Malapascua island located north of Cebu Province, Philippines is a tiny gem. The reef system around Gato Island and the Monad Shoal – home for the famous year-round sighting of thresher sharks – are just amazing. A big shout out to Sea Slug Dive center in Malapascua, they have the most affordable dive packages in the island.
Moalboal, down south of Cebu, is also popular for the mesmerizing sardines run that you can see even by just snorkelling. The Pescador Island near the town of Moalboal is also a must see. Blue Abyss Dive center was my home during the trip.
