Better late than never. Went to Phuket early last year and the post-processed photos are sitting in my hard drive waiting to be posted. After my wonderful dive at Rawai, I went to see the city just before flying out back to Singapore. It was quick; I just hired a cab and let him show me places I shouldn’t miss.
Where I stayed: Thai Palace Resort, Rawai
Lovely and spacious rooms, quite a small pool though. I stayed here as recommended by my colleague and also because the dive centre where I booked my dives have transfers in this hotel.
Where I ate: Nikita’s
Just across Thai Palace Resort is a beautiful seafood restaurant with a view of the ocean. Had a platter of seafood, lobster and oysters. Indeed, seafood overload. My craving was satisfied.
The next morning after a day of diving, I went out to a stroll along the streets of Rawai. I checked out early to see other tourist spots of the famous island.
Big Buddha in Chalong. Standing on the peak of Mount Nagakerd, I went to see this massive white jade marble statue. the spot also offers a picturesque panoramic view of the island.
Chalong Temple. My last stop before heading to the airport, Chalong temple showcases the beautiful Thai architecture. The details are just so distinct and really are photogenic. 🙂
